Thirteen years ago, after moving house, I no longer had space for my beloved Rowe

AMI Diplomat (1965). It was relegated to the garage where it occasionally played but

gradually deteriorated. Eventually, I wrapped it up and stored it in a corner—unloved

and forgotten for a decade.

Over the years, I searched in vain for a local jukebox technician—until I came across

Steve, who specializes in Rowe AMI repairs. With space now available in the house,

I unearthed the jukebox, unwrapped it, and switched it on. Lights came on, but that

was it.

Steve came to my house, removed the internals, and took them away for inspection.

Over the following months, he kept me regularly updated with progress and the

issues he discovered. Once everything was repaired, he returned, reinstalled the

internals, and powered it on—lights, amp hum, and even music! But it still wasn’t

quite right.

Steve then decided to take the entire jukebox back to his workshop for a more

thorough inspection. Again, he kept me informed and even invited me to see it in

action—working flawlessly.

Finally, Steve delivered it back to my home. It powered up perfectly and has been

running smoothly ever since. The cost was exactly as expected, in line with the

original estimate.

restored working jukebox, ready for another 10+ years of enjoyment.
